Stanley Cheng | Attorney

Stanley is an attorney on the High Skilled Immigration Services team and works with primarily researchers and postgraduate students. The visas his clients are normally seeking include EB-1A Extraordinary Ability, EB-1B Outstanding Professor/Researcher, EB-2 National Interest Waiver (NIW), and O-1 Extraordinary Ability immigration categories.

Clients have noted that Stanley keeps their future at the forefront of his mind during their cases, staying aware of case timelines and notifying clients of potential delays that could affect their lives. By giving his clients the knowledge and context they need, they can make informed decisions on their next steps. Stanley is also sensitive to issues that may be relevant to a client, even when they are not directly related to the case's preparations.

Prior to joining Ellis Porter, Stanley gained experience at two different immigration firms in Florida. One of these firms was the same firm that helped his own family with their immigration needs when first moving to the United States. In his previous positions, Stanley handled business immigration for CEO’s, as well as asylum and refugee cases. Additionally, he worked with the Intimate Partner Violence Assistance Clinic at the University of Florida, preparing cases related to the U visa and petitions for injunctions for protection against domestic violence.

After his family immigrated to the United States from China and Nicaragua, Stanley was raised in North Miami Beach, where he spent most of his childhood helping his family with their small takeout restaurant. This experience pushed him to engage with the community in any way he could, which led to his passion of helping people. From a young age, he loved to help; whether it was offering guidance or translating documents, he knew he wanted to make a career out of it
