alexis barbacci | Attorney

Alexis is part of a team of attorneys on the High Skilled Immigration Services team. She works with a wide variety of clients who come from different research and academic backgrounds. Most of the clients she works with are self-petitioners who desire to enter the United States based on their employment. Alexis’ clients mainly seek visas related to the EB-2 National Interest Waiver (NIW) and EB-1A Extraordinary Ability categories. However, she has also worked on some cases involving EB-1B and O-1 Extraordinary Ability clients, as these visas are also relevant to her work.

Clients have commented that Alexis demonstrates exceptional organizational skills, dedication, and the ability to respond thoroughly and thoughtfully to every inquiry they may have. Her ability to personalize each case strategy to highlight the individual accomplishments of her clients is shown in every case.

Alexis' paternal grandmother and father immigrated to the United States from Iceland, and her maternal great-grandparents immigrated from Poland. All in all, her background has fostered her strong connection to immigration law, overall. With an interest in Public Interest and Environmental Law, Alexis attended Wayne State University Law School. There, she pursued her passion of helping those in need of legal aid. As a law student, she worked with the Legal Advocacy for People with Cancer Clinic, and she was an intern with Lean & Green Michigan.

Soon after expanding her interests in law school, Alexis found immigration law to be one of her serious passions. After joining Ellis Porter, she has found where she wants to continue practicing law long-term. Outside of work, she enjoys exercising, reading, and baking traditional Icelandic recipes passed down from her grandmother.
